All you need to know about holiday home ownership
Where are we in Hunstanton?
Your holiday home would be just on the outskirts of Hunstanton close to the sandy beaches.
Can I live in my holiday home?
No. Searles has a holiday licence which means that you cannot use your holiday home as a main residence. You can stay in it whilst on holiday but you must live somewhere else and we will require you to provide proof of the address of your main residence and this cannot be the address of someone else such as a relative.
Can I receive post at the caravan/lodge?
No. your holiday home cannot be used as a postal address, if there is something you need delivered to your holiday home please discuss this with the owners administration and we may be able to take this in for you if we are aware it is coming.
How long can I stay in my holiday home?
The season varies with the different areas but for caravans it is around 10.5 months and lodges 11 months. During this time you can use it when you like on a holiday basis.
How long can my holiday home stay on site?
The tenure varies depending on what you purchase, this is clearly shown on the stocklist for caravans, lodges tend to have a longer tenure which is reviewed on condition where caravans have a fixed tenure. You will always be told the life on site of any holiday home you are interested in and it will be shown on your sales agreement.
Can I sublet my holiday home?
Many of our owners choose Searles for the peace and quiet and continuity afforded by owning their own lodge or caravan. Allowing owners to let their lodges would change the dynamic considerably with different holiday making families arriving and departing regularly, this would be detrimental to the relaxed atmosphere our owners enjoy. For this reason we've decided that inviting buy to let investors to the development would be against the best interests of our largest customer group.
Can I use the holiday park facilities?
Yes, as an owner you get 10 photo ID cards to gain access to our facilities and discount on your food and drink. A full list of benefits is included with the licence agreement and pitch information form.
Can our family and friends come and stay?
Absolutely, just so long as you make it available free of charge, if your guests are not on your members list then temporary memberships to the facilities can be purchased.
Are there any lodges or caravans to suit disabled people?
Yes, there are a range of caravans and lodges available to order or we can tailor make a lodge to suit your exact needs.
Do you allow dogs on site?
Yes, we love dogs, so as long as it’s not a classified dangerous breed or one of our excluded breeds, you’re welcome to bring them. (Nb: if you’ve got a half breed that looks like a dangerous breed, I’m afraid that’s not allowed either – some of our guests won’t know the difference).
Can we build our own decking?
No. all deckings, patios and storage boxes must be purchased through the resort to keep our 5 star standards. You are allowed to maintain these yourself but if you require an outside contractor to work on your holiday home rather than our maintenance team this must be approved in writing before going ahead.
Can I have a BBQ by my holiday home?
Yes, as long as it conforms to approved safety standards.
Can I have a washing line by my holiday home.
Yes we allow rotary washing lines but they must be removed when not in use and the spike installed by Searles.
What facilities are there for children?
On both the Country Park and the Leisure Resort as an owner you benefit from free use of many of the facilities available, so just a short walk away is something for all ages. The facilities in the Country Park and Leisure Resort combined are second to none. For our younger guests on the Leisure Resort we have numerous kiddies clubs, Sidney’s Indoor Play Zone, and Outdoor Play Park and Searle's Outdoor Fitness Park for ages 14+.
