Ah, the good life, nights under the stars, waking up to birdsong and enjoying your early morning cuppa with the calming sound of the sea in the distance… Whether you are sleeping under canvas, pitching your caravan or staying in one of our fantastic pods, Searles’ camping facilities are an unbeatable way to enjoy a bargain Hunstanton holiday with incredible amenities, right on site. With indoor and outdoor swimming pools, sports and leisure facilities, kids’ play areas, plus a wide range of dining options and entertainment, plan a Norfolk getaway that combines the simplicity of a camping break with an award winning resort – the best of both worlds!
Less is more! Travel lightly…
The old adage is definitely true, and part of the charm of a camping holiday is being able to simplify life and pack less for your great escape. With our fully heated WC, shower and washing up facilities, there’s no need to worry too much about ‘roughing it’, so focus on the camping equipment you need for everyone to be warm and comfortable during your stay.
If you are a novice canvas camper, be sure to invest in the right tent and furniture to suit your needs and test run your gear at home to ensure you don’t forget any essential parts. Should you hit any snags, our onsite team are on hand to help and there is a small camping store in Hunstanton too.
Don’t forget a torch or headlamp which is useful if you or the kids need to visit the facilities at night! Two-way radios can also be a good, old-school addition, particularly to keep in touch with those old enough to wander the site solo and use our brilliant pedal karts to get around!
A few ground rules…
One of the most important things to pack is a minimum 25m electric hook-up or camping extension to get connected to the power supply. At Searles Leisure Resort, there are few rules, but our pitching guidelines help to ensure everyone has the space they need to enjoy a relaxing stay.
All vehicles and touring caravans must be pitched facing forward towards the road for easy removal in the unlikely event of an emergency. There should be at least six metres between your tent, motorhome or caravan and your neighbour’s pitch to avoid disturbing your fellow campers, plus a one metre clearance from the perimeter, including guide ropes, for safety.
Camping and cookouts go hand in hand, so you’ll be pleased to know that you can use a charcoal BBQ alongside your pitch, but wood-fired campfires are not permitted due to the risk of embers creating a wildfire. Or let us take care of the cooking with a fantastic home-cooked meal at the dog-friendly Fountain Sports Bar and Restaurant, which is located nearby.
Please be respectful of others, particularly after dark when younger or older guests may be sleeping, and try to avoid light disturbance when moving around the site at night.
Leave no trace – respect the environment
It’s the #1 rule for camping and one we thank every guest who stays with us for observing – the beauty of Searles’ coastal location and proximity to nature and wildlife is precious and it’s important that we all do our bit to protect the environment.
Simple steps include avoiding single-use plastics and bringing reusable cutlery and dinnerware which you can easily wash-up on site, avoiding disposable wipes and using a small basin to keep your pitch clean and tidy. Use our waste and recycling stations to separate and dispose of rubbish carefully, and please do ensure your pitch is left clear of rubbish before you head home.
Camping etiquette is largely common sense and if you inadvertently get anything not quite right, your fellow campers or a member of the Searles team will likely give you a friendly steer and guiding hand to get things sorted. Most of all, relax and enjoy your stay at Searles Leisure Resort, you’ll be a camping pro before you know it!
