Holiday for less at Searles Leisure Resort

With the cost of living crisis, more of us are watching the pennies, but that doesn’t mean you have to forgo your favourite Norfolk holiday. Searles Leisure Resort can help you to spread the cost of your holiday, which means you can secure your summer holiday and pay in instalments, with the balance of your holiday only due nine weeks before your arrival.

With live entertainment and leisure facilities, including access to our indoor, outdoor and splash play pools, all in the price of your break, a self-catering stay at Searles is one of the best budget-friendly ways to ensure the whole family enjoys a holiday for less.

Whether you choose to tour and camp with us, or stay in one of our comfortable holiday homes, cabins or lodges which accommodate up to eight guests, Searles’ award winning facilities make self-catering super-easy. Pack your favourite food and drink and enjoy a home from home experience, plus our on-site launderette means you need to have the dreaded laundry load to tackle when you get home either!

Our dog-friendly accommodation means even your four-legged family members can join in the fun and, if you are not bound by school holidays, don’t forget that early spring and late autumn stays offer exceptional value.

Cheap and free things to do in Norfolk

With fantastic, quality accommodation at Searles sorted for your next Norfolk holiday, it pays to plan ahead and save on great days out along the coast. ‘Location, location, location’ applies as much to your holiday as your home and you couldn’t book a better spot than Searles Leisure Resort for its proximity to sandy beaches, with seashells to collect and rock pools to explore.

In fact, the resort leads straight onto Hunstanton’s promenade – head left and you can walk to Heacham and along the beach to Snettisham where RSPB Snettisham is a great spot to nature watch. Take a flask and cosy up in one of the hides to enjoy the Snettisham Spectacular from early spring to mid-October as the migrating wading birds set off from the mudflats in a magnificent display.

Or head right and walk the promenade to Hunstanton’s striped cliffs for some free fossil hunting. Follow the Norfolk Coast Path, which goes as far as Cromer and on to Hopton-on-Sea on the Suffolk border. The route intersects with the Peddars Way at Holme-next-the-Sea, an Ancient Roman path which leads 40 miles to Knettishall Heath Country Park in Suffolk. The Norfolk stretch of the new King Charles III England Coast Path, which will be the world’s longest managed coastal path when completed, is set to be established by the end of March 2026 and offers new coastal access points at Titchwell and Thornham. However far you decide to roam, these routes offer incredible opportunities to enjoy Norfolk’s natural beauty and spot wildlife – all without spending a penny!

Free activities in Hunstanton

While you’re in Hunstanton, pop in to the Heritage Centre a volunteer-run display of the town’s Victorian history which is open from 2-4pm Wednesday-Monday (check online for seasonal closures). Learn about the Le Strange family who were ‘new’ Hunstanton’s architects, the arrival of the railway and pier and much more. Entry is free with donations welcome.

From here, wander down to the Heritage Gardens on Cliff Parade and let the kids run off steam at the play park, or sit on the green where there are often vehicle displays and live music on the bandstand at weekends. Hunstanton Recreation Ground, on the edge of town on the coast road, and Old Hunstanton Play Park are also fun spots for little ones.

Look out too for Hunstanton Events and Activities organised by King’s Lynn & West Norfolk Borough Council. From Easter Egg Hunts to Stargazing, Hunstanton’s Soap Box Derby is a seasonal highlight.
