Frequently Asked Questions

Where are the Lodges situated at Searles in Hunstanton?

Your lodge would be in a tranquil location, just on the outskirts of Hunstanton. Overlooking a picturesque coastal 18 hole Links golf course.

How close to the beach?

North Norfolk has plenty of beautiful beaches and as a Searle’s lodge owner, you’re just a few minutes walk away from a stretch of sandy beach that lasts for several miles.

Are you pet friendly?

Yes, we love dogs, so as long as it’s not a classified dangerous breed, you’re welcome to bring them.

(Nb: if you’ve got a half breed that looks like a dangerous breed, I’m afraid that’s not allowed either – some of our guests won’t know the difference. Please see our terms and conditions for full details.)

Can you buy to let?

For many of our owners, the peace and quiet of Redgate Court is one of the main reasons they chose Searles as a destination. Allowing owners to let their lodges would change the dynamic considerably with different families arriving and departing regularly. For this reason we've decided that inviting buy to let investors to the development would be detrimental to the relaxed atmosphere of Redgate Court - one of it's most powerful attractors.

If you are looking for a holiday let style investment please visit the Heacham Manor website for details on our holiday cottage investment opportunity.

Can our family and friends come and stay?

Absolutely, if they are not a named cardholder there may be a small charge for the use of the facilities.

Are there any lodges to suit disabled people?

Yes, we can tailor make a lodge to suit your exact needs.

How long does a lodge last?

Lodges are built to residential standards, so it really depends how well you look after it. With proper care they’ll last a lifetime.

How long is the licence?

There is no upper limit to the length of time you can keep a lodge at Searles, we just ask that you keep the lodge safe and in a good state of repair. In order for us to maintain high standards on the park we do have a checking system, so after 25 years we’ll inspect the lodge to make sure it meets our reasonable requirements, then at 35 years, and annually thereafter. So long as the lodge is up to standard, your licence will continue on.

Can we live in our lodge all year round?

Searles Resort has a holiday licence which means that you can’t use your lodge as a main residence. You can stay in your lodge up 11 months of the year, but you need to be paying council tax at a separate address to prove you are meeting the requirements of the law.

When is the site open?

The site is open for lodge owners 11 months of the year. We close for a month at the begining of each new year.

What facilities are there for children?

Searles has lots of facilities for all ages, including children. There’s a soft play centre and numerous kiddy clubs that young children will love.
